Betrothed in the summer of 2016, Michelle Van Oyen and Kyle McRill originally planned to marry on June 3, 2017. However, when unforeseen family circumstances affected their wedding plans, wedding caterer, Catered Creations, of Grand Rapids, Michigan stepped out in faith and stepped in to help.
Owner Patti Zylstra met the young couple following a Catered Creations food-tasting event, where they told her how much they loved the food. Upon hearing the couple’s touching story, the wedding caterer offered some extra assistance. But, could Michelle and Kyle move up the wedding date to a time when Patti and team were better prepared to help?
Kyle and Michelle wholeheartedly agreed. And, on May 13 they exchanged afternoon “I do’s.” Afterwards, the wedding reception featured a Southern-themed wedding menu. The bride and groom along with 250 guests enjoyed a catered menu selection including brisket, lemon herb chicken, cornbread, lemonade and ice tea.
“We were deeply touched at how Catered Creations came forward to assist us,” said Michelle. “With their help, the dream wedding of Kyle and myself came true.”
