Don’t Mix Contemporary Food and a Rustic Wedding!
While many nuptial celebrations are successes with simply a wonderful couple (and guests), a pleasant venue and delicious wedding reception cuisine courtesy of a talented wedding caterer, many couples today are electing to go the extra mile and celebrate their special wedding event with a special wedding theme.
Garden weddings and beach weddings are two specially themed weddings that instantly come to mind. Similarly, rustic weddings are those that include mountain weddings and forest weddings or even farm weddings, barn weddings and ranch weddings. Other couples elect a museum, grand estate or historic site as a venue, and may opt for a vintage wedding inspired by the surroundings, such as an art deco-inspired wedding, French garden wedding or 1920s-themed wedding.
It seems there’s no limit to the imaginations of today’s marriage themes! Nautical weddings at yacht clubs, rooftop weddings atop skyscrapers and mountain meadow weddings are popping up on invitations, as are Southern weddings and Southwest weddings, depending on location.
Given the extra time and extra effort you’ll put into a themed wedding, it pays to give some extra thought to your specially themed wedding menu. It would seem out of place, of course, to serve fine French wedding cuisine at a backyard wedding or, conversely, feature a barbeque wedding menu at an elegant wedding reception held on the grounds of an oceanside mansion.
All that said, you’ll want to work closely with your wedding caterer to match your wedding theme to your wedding cuisine. You – and your guests – will appreciate the care and creativity that will go into your themed wedding menu. What’s more, most caterers for weddings will relish the opportunity to accomplish something fun, inventive and memorable!
